Air duct - air conditioning duct

In the year 1919, Mr J. Vergalle set up as a plumber in Oudenaarde. Because of the rough weather conditions there was searched for an item that could be manufactured during winter season. It became accessories, such as mangers for poultry farms, wheelbarrows, bread boxes and stovepipes. At the beginning, it was merely handicraft, later was moved on to a more automated production. The definite start of the company however, was after the Second World War.

In the early 1960s, there was a switchover to slitting strip steel by the foundation of the company Vergalle NV. In 1974, the production of tubes for air conditioning, dust extraction and heating was started. Initially, they were only rectangular ducts, later the company was the first and only company in Belgium to produce the spiral ducts manufactured from strip steel with a folded spiral seam.
In 1980, the production unit moved to the Kortrijkstraat in Oudenaarde, where there was an ever evolving increase of personnel, productivity and product development. Every possible accessory, suspension system and frame profile was manufactured in-house.

In the meantime, the company Vergokan was founded in 1978, on a new location, with a view to a further diversification in the steel processing industry. This company, managed by Steven Vergalle is currently the Belgian market leader and a trend-setting European player in the field of the production of cable ducts and matching accessories.

In 1988, the present Airkan NV was founded under the management of Mr Luc Tsjoen. Airkan took over the entire division with regard to the production of circular and rectangular air ducts. Very soon the company premises in the Kortrijkstraat also became too small and there was decided in favour of the construction of a new industrial building with modern administrative offices. The company mainly produces rectangular and circular air ducts, fittings and accessories that are especially used in the industrial sector, in banks, hospitals, cultural centres, sports centres and blocks of flats. The future can be faced with confidence as within a number of years, succession is guaranteed by one of the sons, sc Mr Lieven Tsjoen..

Profiles used for coupling rectangular ducts and a wide range of standardized fittings for circular ducts were 2 very important products that were purchased externally by Airkan NV. Because of the strategic importance and the large quantity of these two products, it was decided in 1998 to start an own production of these items.

That's why in 1999 Vento was founded, a company specializing in the production of profiles for rectangular air ducts and particularly in the production of stamped fittings for circular air ducts.
The company is managed by the other son, sc Mr Pieter Tsjoen.
