Vento : East Flemish “Leeuw van de Export” (Export Lion)
At the New Year's reception in Aalst of Voka - Chamber of Commerce of East Flanders, on the premises of Eendracht Aalst, the East Flemish laureates of the “Leeuw van de Export 2003” were revealed. De "Leeuw van de Export" is an annual award received by enterprises who achieved remarkably well in the export area. Representatives of "Export Vlaanderen" (Export Flanders), Voka - Chamber of Commerce of East Flanders, the "G.O.M.", "De Tijd", "UNIZO" and "Ernst & Young" deliberated upon the nominations. This time, Vento (Oudenaarde) and Bexco (Hamme) were the winners for East Flanders.

Ronald Everaert, chairman of "Voka-Chamber of Commerce of East Flanders", was invited by the jury to confer the title of "Best Performer" to the enterprise that can look back on many years of export experience and that stood out in the export branch. The title of “Young Exporter”, granted by Koen Allaert, General Director of "Export Vlaanderen", went to a company that has only recently started up export activities, but was already able to produce a remarkable result. In East Flanders there were 12 nominees. All files that were entered, showed great export dynamics.

Young Exporter : Vento

The East Flemish Young Exporter prize went to Vento from Oudenaarde, a dynamic firm established in March 1999. Its main activity consists in manufacturing pressed fittings for circular air ducts. In addition, they also market frame profiles and accessories for rectangular air ducts. Besides two exceptions, they only supply companies abroad.

They first started to export to France (1999), then to Germany, Ireland and Austria in 2000, subsequently to Poland, England and Spain (2001-2002) and by the end of 2002 particularly to Russia and the former Eastern Bloc Countries. In the meantime Lebanon, Israel, Morocco, Iceland and Switzerland are also part of its export market.

They owe their export success especially to the strong price policy, combined with the fastest term of delivery in the sector and very few wrong deliveries or back orders. Because of its extended customer relations not a single customer has gone back to the competition since 1999. Finally, the company offers services in 5 languages.
